-cleaned my car, it was dirty

Pending Draft Legislation Targeted for Spring 2005
The Draft will Start in June 2005

There is pending legislation in the House and Senate (twin bills: S 89 and HR 163) which will time the program's initiation so the draft can begin at early as Spring 2005 -- just after the 2004 presidential election. The administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed now, while the public's attention is on the elections, so our action on this is needed immediately.

$28 million has been added to the 2004 Selective Service System (SSS) budget to prepare for a military draft that could start as early as June 15, 2005. Selective Service must report to Bush on March 31, 2005 that the system, which has lain dormant for decades, is ready for activation. The pentagon has quietly begun a public campaign to fill all 10,350 draft board positions and 11,070 appeals board slots nationwide.. Though this is an unpopular election year topic, military experts and influential members of congress are suggesting that if Rumsfeld's prediction of a "long, hard slog" in Iraq and Afghanistan [and a permanent state of war on "terrorism"] proves accurate, the U.S. may have no choice but to draft.

Congress brought twin bills, S. 89 and HR 163 forward this year, http://www.hslda.org/legislation/na...s89/default.asp entitled the Universal National Service Act of 2003, "to provide for the common defense by requiring that all young persons [age 18--26] in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes." These active bills currently sit in the committee on armed services.

Dodging the draft will be more difficult than those from the Vietnam era.

College and Canada will not be options. In December 2001, Canada and the U.S. signed a "smart border declaration," which could be used to keep would-be draft dodgers in. Signed by Canada's minister of foreign affairs, John Manley, and U.S. Homeland Security director, Tom Ridge, the declaration involves a 30-point plan which implements, among other things, a "pre-clearance agreement" of people entering and departing each country. Reforms aimed at making the draft more equitable along gender and class lines also eliminates higher education as a shelter. Underclassmen would only be able to postpone service until the end of their current semester. Seniors would have until the end of the academic year.

Even those voters who currently support US actions abroad may still object to this move, knowing their own children or grandchildren will not have a say about whether to fight. Not that it should make a difference, but this plan, among other things, eliminates higher education as a
shelter and includes women in the draft.

The public has a right to air their opinions about such an important decision.

Please send this on to all the friends, parents, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and cousins that you know. Let your children know too -- it's their future, and they can be a powerful voice for change!

Please also contact your representatives to ask them why they aren't telling their constituents about these bills -- and contact newspapers and other media outlets to ask them why they're not covering this important story.

wow long day i had.

-woke up
-rushed to school
-english we passed back papers and finished the movie
-french we did stuff +fire drill cuz some kid pulled it
-us history took a test.
-after school went to target with angela
-we had dennys for dinner
-major tummy ache+ cramps
-watched timberwolves beat sacramento [WOOT WOOT]
-watched calgary beat san jose
-watched like 2 seconds of the Angels game.
-Cleaned out the food cabinet and freezer
-Took a shower/ gave dog bath
-Blow dryed dog
-Computer nerdness time
-lately ive been in "spring cleaning" mode. The kitchen almost looks nice.

20 DAYS LEFT OF SCHOOL

I forgot to add the part where i tell you im getting another ingrown toenail removed soon. Yah pain mucho. I dont really HAVE another ingrown but i can feel one STARTING and i just wanna get it done with and out of the way b4 it gets too painful cuz it already hurts somtimes.

today was simple

-aiding. read my mockingbird book and graded some papers
-biology. did homework while he lectured.
-after school. carly,angela, & i, went to stein mart. 1. so carly could do her job interview, and 2. so i could get an application and turn it in.
-then we went to 7/11 got "Shrek-A-Licious" slurpies. mmm. [aka sierra mist slurpies haha]
-then i took carly to her gmas
-then me n angela are now being computer nerds at my house.
-later were gonna go to dennys. YUM
-then im gonna turn in my Micheals application.
-i really WANT my car, i really NEED a job for that to happen.

you kinda cant tell that those are teddy bears, but they are. so on friday night me n angela got bored and bought play doh. and it was a 24 pack. those are the 12 colors that i got. she got the other 12. we picked our own colors so it'd be fair. and those are the ones i chose. i decided to take pictures of the teddy bears to share with you what colors i got.

today was friday. in every class everyone was fidgity. one cuz its friday and two cuz its basically the end of the year and brains are shutting down. hahaha. yah im so happy. 29 days left of school. rockin'!

after school i went to lunch with angela then took her home. she had confirmation today!!! yayaya! congrats miss angela!

i picked her up from her church cuz her dad left her there and took her home so she could change. then we went to dinner. that was cool. then we went to julies. then we went to targhetto and got play doh. we went to her house and played with play doh. its fun. then some friends of ours ditched us so we decided sleep over time.

then now shes stayin the night here n whatnot. happy friday ppl.

after school angela and i went to dennys then got gas then went to my house for reeds cash card then westminster mall for a dress but i didnt like it so we went to south coast plaza and i got my prom dress. it was my first option ne way so i got it yay! i like it. then we went to targhetto and such got my mom cards for her bday and mothers day and then went into fashion young angela bought stuff then went to julies and i got accessories and my moms bday present. then we went to rubys and ate food then i took angela home and i went home and nothing imp. happened. oh yeah, reed likes my dress.

yet another hot day again today. so ne way. woke up, picked up angela, went to aiding. did us history terms. then went to lunch. then went to biology. we watched the movie EVOLUTION. haha so funny. good movie. hahaha. sean william scott is funny. ok yeah. after school went to the beach with miss angela. we met up with amy and lindsay there. went in the water for a bit, it was really cold. got out. tanned. woke up [i dozed off for a bit]. went back to the car. dropped angela off at home. came home. nap. ate popeyes for dinner. and i think im gonna go take a shower. ok im done. bye

yeh well today was monday. mondays suck. well in english we did stuff. french we did stuff. us history did stuff. and after school me n angela went to dennys. then targhetto. then we went to her house and i hula hooped for a bit. then went home and jumped right into the pool. so hot outside i hate it. and then later me n angela went to rubys. that was cool. then i took her home. now im sitting here. i had no bio hw so im good. i think i'll get in bed at 1 tonight. or maybe 2. since i dont gotta wake up till 10. bwahahha. i rock. yeh thats my day. it was hot. hot hot hot.

today was alright. REALLY HOT OUT! it still is hot out and its almost 11pm. DUDE! make it go away i want cold weather back. man i predict a really hot summer. well anyways.

i woke up today basically throwing the sheets off as fast as i could cuz it was hot and i was sweating yeah then i got ready went to get angela. we got our nails done i got my eyebrows done too. anyways...

after nails we went to target i got toothpaste,orbit gum, and koolaide jammers. yummy.

after target we went to my house geez then a little bit later we jumped in my pool. it felt soooo nice. we just chilled in the pool for about 30 mins or so. mayb 45 mins.

after that we went down to main st to pick up the color me mine stuff we made. and then we went to rubys. ate food. walked to jacks cuz angela needed sandles went to jacks girls and she got her sandles then i realized i left my color me mine stuff at rubys =/ so we walked all the way down the pier back to rubys got my stuff then went to the car.

i took angela home then i came home and my mom asked me to wash her car. she bought the new mr.clean stuff where it basically does all the work. i washed both cars in the time it would take me to wash ONE car without it. i like that thing hahaha. after that made katrina her cd she came and picked it up then i took a shower. and now im just chillaxin. its really hot. ugh.
